We arrived at the Polling unit (unit 004) by 7:15am and everything was set for the election exercise including setting out polling unit layout. The accreditation and voting process commenced at 8:30am and the exercise was going on smoothly and peacefully until 2:15pm when our Polling unit was suddenly attacked by some hoodlums who were fully armed with dangerous weapons. Using motorcycle. We had to run for our lives because we were also pursued and chased by the hoodlums with the motorcycle that they came with. Ballot boxes (Governorship and State Constituency) and used ballot papers inside the boxes were carted away. Later, the rider of the motorcycle that the assailant came with was apprehended by the men of Nigeria Army. Other material including the BVAS were secured by us except the Ballot Boxes carted away by the assailants. The election was not concluded as a result of the snatched ballot boxes.
